Landlords & Developers

As a result of Superstorm Sandy, there was a significant shortage of rental housing in New Jersey, particularly in the communities hardest hit by the storm. The State set up recovery programs for landlords and developers in an effort to repair or replace Sandy-damaged rental units, particularly those that serve low and moderate income households, and to create affordable rental units by providing financial incentives to landlords who agree to lease their units at affordable rents to households of limited financial means.

The following housing recovery programs apply to landlords and developers:

  • Landlord Incentive Program
  • Landlord Rental Repair Program
  • Fund for Restoration of Multifamily Housing (FRM)
  • Sandy Special Needs Housing Fund
  • Predevelopment Fund for Affordable Rental Housing
  • Neighborhood Enhancement Program
