Sandy Special Needs Housing Fund

In an effort to replenish the affordable rental housing stock depleted during Superstorm Sandy, specifically for individuals with special needs, the Sandy Special Needs Housing Fund offers capital subsidies to affordable housing developers to create permanent supportive housing units in the nine counties the federal government determined were most impacted by the storm (Atlantic, Bergen, Cape May, Essex, Hudson, Middlesex, Monmouth, Ocean, and Union).

The primary goal is to create affordable housing opportunities for some of New Jersey’s most vulnerable citizens, including individuals with developmental disabilities, consumers of mental health services, the homeless and other under-served communities who may have been impacted by Superstorm Sandy.
