Sandy Special Needs Housing Fund
The Sandy Special Needs Housing Fund provides capital subsidies in the form of loans to developers of permanent supportive housing for low- and moderate-income special needs populations, which include individuals with mental, physical, or developmental disabilities, and other at-risk populations identified by the State.
Eligible projects must be in the nine counties the federal government determined were most impacted by the storm (Atlantic, Bergen, Cape May, Essex, Hudson, Middlesex, Monmouth, Ocean, and Union) and projects can include new construction, moderate and substantial rehabilitation of existing buildings, conversion of buildings, and acquisition only.
The Sandy Special Needs Housing Fund is administered by the New Jersey Housing and Mortgage Finance Agency (HMFA). Program guidelines, application forms, selection criteria and other program information are available at http://www.nj.gov/dca/hmfa/developers/cdbg/.
